Author and educator Laure Stack has released her latest children’s book, Once Upon a Boy. It is a heartfelt story that talks about the wonder of childhood imagination with the themes of friendship and the importance of believing in possibilities.
The book follows the journey of Liam, a young boy who lives far from town and often struggles with loneliness. One day, Liam’s quiet wish for companionship is answered when three children suddenly appear, inviting him into a day filled with laughter, play, and magical surprises. Together they enjoy an unexpected picnic, discover a grand playset, and experience the kind of joy Liam had longed for. Yet when doubt creeps into his thoughts, the magic fades, until he discovers a small piece of evidence that proves it had all been real.
Through Liam’s story, Stack explores themes of loneliness, imagination, and belief, offering young readers a narrative that is both comforting and inspiring. The tale encourages children to value hope, friendship, and creativity while showing how doubt can sometimes take away the very magic they long for.
The book provides parents, educators, and caregivers with a meaningful tool to discuss the importance of self-belief and the joy of shared experiences.
Once Upon a Boy stands out as a modern fable for children and families. It reminds readers that even the smallest spark of belief can turn loneliness into laughter and possibility.
